Job Purpose (Job Summary): The FOO Analyst, ETF & Index Equity NA will be primarily responsible to support the Portfolio Managers in daily portfolio management through implementation, execution and monitoring of ETF and SMA index-based products domiciled in the US, Canada, and Europe. The candidate should have a good understanding of corporate actions and financial markets, and a good working knowledge of how an exchange‑trade fund works.
The position will utilize various reporting tools and systems to ensure portfolios effectively track associated indices. The candidate will be responsible for using a systematic approach to data, technology and processes to ensure portfolios can be implemented efficiently with a high level of accuracy. The role is team‑based; other duties that may not be directly related to index tracking or portfolio management may be required.
The Analyst will leverage technical skills to deliver high quality work and will seek assistance when needed. The role will work closely with Portfolio Management, ETF Operations, Trading and other internal and external partners.
- Aid in the rebalance of portfolios as required to ensure funds track associated indices effectively and efficiently.
- Daily monitoring of funds and indices to ensure execution of scheduled and non‑scheduled events such as custom order activity, corporate actions, cash management and rebalances.
- Partner with tenured analysts on issues that may impact trading or tracking by the fund to its Index.
- Oversee exception reporting to ensure funds meet investment objectives.
- Assist with projects related to new product launches, risk reduction in terms of financial and process, and process as well as technology improvements.
- Support client inquiries from portfolio managers, capital markets and other groups.
- Demonstrate expertise in activities assigned and identify and implement improvements.
- Proactively engage team lead and/or manager to help prioritize work to ensure alignment to departmental priorities.
0 to 3 years of work experience in the financial services industry or education in a related field of study. Basic knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of VBA, Python, or other related languages a plus.
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required- Good verbal and written skills ensuring effective communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to multitask different initiatives at once, take direction well, and exhibit strong follow‑through skills.
- Ability to systematically follow established processes while considering when deviations may arise.
- Acute attention to detail.
Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in a related field of study.
Working ConditionsNormal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures. The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary. Hours may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as well as 24‑hour a day on‑call support by cell phone.
