What You'll Do
The Finance Leadership Rotation Program is a multi-year development opportunity designed to build well-rounded finance professionals through hands-on experience across core finance functions. Over approximately two (2) years, participants complete two (2) rotations of roughly one (1) year each, gaining broad exposure to Dover's finance organization.

Post-Rotation Transition:
Following the completion of the second rotation, the Finance executive team convenes to identify current open roles and leading opportunities for the individual, taking into account the team member's expressed preference for an appropriate next role. Post-rotation roles may require relocation to OpCo's and can include positions such as Controller, Assistant Controller, and FP&A Director/Manager.
What You'll Learn
- Broad Business & Risk Acumen:
Develop deep knowledge of Dover's business and risk landscape by executing audit projects, addressing significant business risks, and fostering a control-oriented environment. - Financial Planning & Forecasting Expertise:
Learn how budgets are created and managed at a Fortune 500 company, leading budgeting and forecasting cycles and forecasting at both macro (company-wide) and micro (cost-item) levels. - Analytical & Critical Thinking:
Strengthen analytical and critical thinking skills by assessing processes, interpreting data, building financial models, and making recommendations for improvement. - Financial Modeling & Reporting:
Gain hands-on experience preparing Board of Directors materials, executive and earnings presentations, and providing ad-hoc analytical support to senior management. - Communication:
Enhance communication capabilities to clearly present and escalate high-risk observations, explain financial outcomes, and facilitate discussions with senior leadership. - Cross-Functional Partnership & Networking:
Build strong partnerships and a network across operating companies and Corporate, working with cross-functional leaders, international partners, and co-source providers.
Internal Audit:
- Execute identified projects in support of the on-going audit plan
- Assists Senior, Manager, Senior Manager, and Director in all planning and reporting activities
- Develop strong partnerships with business leadership across all segments to further internal audit's brand and build trust within the organization.
- Address significant business risks through value-added audits and foster a control-oriented environment.
- Assure an effective and efficient cooperation with other professional service providers (co-source partners)
- Clearly identify, communicate and escalate high risk observations to the appropriate levels of management
- Adhere to budget goals, meet deadlines and communicate difficulties in a timely manner
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles for corporate departments; work closely with cross-functional leaders and international partners to develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Assist with company-wide quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting reporting requirements, including through development of templates, processes, and company-wide communications; work with segment finance teams to refine requirements and processes
- Serve as a key resource for segment and operating company finance teams on Dover financial planning system processes and best practices
- Provide analytical support to senior management teams in preparation for quarterly earnings releases
- Prepare Board of Directors financial materials and presentations
- Prepare financial presentations for regular executive group meetings
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support to various internal stakeholders
Education &
Certifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Information Systems or a related discipline (Bachelor's required)
- Relevant certifications (CIA, CPA, CISSP, CISA) preferred, or a goal to obtain them in the future
