Director of Commercial Finance

LHH is supporting a large private equity backed distribution client in their search for a newly created Director of Commercial Finance role.

This is an opportunity to join a high growth company at an exciting stage of its evolution. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance and partnering closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will play a key part in driving growth, profitability, and strategic decision making across the business.

The Director of Commercial Finance will serve as a trusted advisor to commercial leadership, providing data driven insights that enhance revenue growth, optimize margins, improve forecasting accuracy, and support overall business performance.

• Partner with commercial and sales leadership to support strategic initiatives and business growth
• Lead sales forecasting, revenue analytics, and performance reporting
• Drive customer and product profitability analysis to identify opportunities for margin enhancement
• Evaluate new customer contracts and commercial initiatives to ensure financial feasibility and profitability
• Support commission planning, analysis, and reporting
• Partner with operations and commercial teams on SIOP processes and demand planning initiatives
• Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards, KPI tracking, and financial analytics capabilities
• Leverage advanced analytics, AI, and large data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Build scalable processes and infrastructure within a growing commercial finance function

• 7+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Finance or a Business Unit Finance role or related finance functions
• Experience supporting commercial, sales, or revenue generating teams within a mid-sized to large organization
• Strong business partnering and communication skills with the ability to influence decision makers
• Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills with experience working through large and complex data sets
• Experience utilizing tools such as SQL, Python, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
• Experience leveraging AI driven analytics and reporting tools is highly desirable
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, hands on, high growth environment

• Base salary: $180,000 to $210,000
• Target bonus: 25%
