Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Position Summary
This is a 1st shift position. Responsibilities include unloading trucks and receiving product using a lift truck, storing and picking product through a system‑directed workflow, and handling various sizes of pallet lots and totes of materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receives finished goods and stores them in the appropriate inventory location.
- Verifies finished goods and picker rack stock levels, replacing as required.
- Reads production orders or follows oral instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
- Counts inventory and reports cycle counts of product as required to maintain accurate inventory data in the computer.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Counts, weighs, and records the number of units of materials moved or handled on the daily production sheet.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers.
- Assists other forklift operators when needed in loading and unloading trucks.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist, and cleans the work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
- Operates an industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Follows quality system instructions and procedures.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; seeks ways to improve quality.
- Meets productivity standards; completes work in a timely manner and strives to increase productivity.
- Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands and adjusts approach or method as needed.
- Is consistently on time for work.
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, keeps commitments, commits to long hours when necessary, and completes tasks on time or notifies the appropriate person with an alternate plan.
- Previous warehouse experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of sit‑down and stand‑up forklift experience.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
The pay for this role is $19.00–$23.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience and education. This full‑time position provides paid time off, a 401(k) plan, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
Export ComplianceThis position may require access to U.S. export‑controlled technical data (CTD) and hardware under the Department of State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).
