Quality Engineer II

Work Model:
Fully onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Location:

Downers Grove, Illinois (Western suburb of Chicago).

The Quality Engineer provides assistance in assuring product quality and supporting quality programs. In this position you make immediate contributions by enhancing the current quality program with daily support in Quality Engineering related issues.

• Utilize data‑driven problem solving methods to improve performance on key quality metrics such as internal and external DPPMs, scrap and customer satisfaction.
• Review nonconforming product, determine, and approve dispositions.
• Provide shop‑floor support with the creation and updating of inspection plans, performing gauge R&R, capability studies, and other quality assurance tools.
• Engage in design, development, and implementation of a quality roadmap for achieving company objectives.
• Drive a culture of quality at the source so that all associates assume ownership of the quality of their work, services, and products.
• Develop and execute criteria for the qualification of new equipment, process, and product introductions through new product development methodologies for aerospace.
• Identify & drive continuous improvement opportunities within the facility and at supplier locations.
• Assist in maintaining all current AS9100 certifications, as well as NADCAP special process certifications.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities through lean tools and analytical problem‑solving methods such as DMAIC.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of quality experience in the aerospace or automotive industry.
• 10% travel.
• Experience working with quality systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO
  9001, FAA regulations).
• Ability to collect, compile, and analyze data to determine root cause and corrective action.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and formal problem‑solving techniques internally and externally.
• High proficiency with PPAP and APQP tools (SPC, GR&R, DOE, FMEA, control plans, Cpk, GD&T, DMAIC, First Article Inspection).
• Deterministic multitasking with excellent writing and administrative skills.
• Proficiency in time and project management.
• Proven history of customer satisfaction success internally and externally.
• Solid background in metal manufacturing, metal cutting, and grinding.
• Solid background in metrology and measurement systems.
• Working knowledge of engineering part drawings and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
• Demonstrated career advancement with increasing accountability.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) – desired.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $105,000 per year.
