The ETF Quantitative Developer will play a key role in supporting the Equity ETF & Indexed Strategies platform through the design, development, and enhancement of portfolio management technology and analytics. This individual will partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, and Technology teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that improve portfolio oversight, streamline workflows, and strengthen the team’s overall infrastructure. This role sits within a fast-paced, high-volume index portfolio management environment and requires both strong technical capabilities and a solid understanding of capital markets.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Portfolio Management, Research, Operations, and Technology to deliver data-driven insights, investment analytics, and portfolio reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain custom tools and applications to support ETF and indexed portfolio management
- Enhance existing portfolio oversight and monitoring frameworks, with a focus on scalability and efficiency
- Build and deploy quantitative models and analytics across internal and external portfolio management systems
- Automate and streamline daily workflows, reporting, and optimization processes
- Contribute to the evolution of the team’s data architecture and technology infrastructure
- 0–3 years of experience in quantitative analytics, development, or a related role
- Exposure to the asset management or financial services industry is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented, high-volume environment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- Strong programming capabilities, with experience in Python and/or R (additional languages such as C++ or Java are a plus)
- Experience working with data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, Polars)
- Familiarity with data engineering and database environments, including Snowflake, is preferred
- Understanding of ETL pipeline development and data workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow)
- Exposure to cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is beneficial
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Familiarity with portfolio management and analytics platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Charles River, Axioma) is a plus
- Exposure to front-end development frameworks (e.g., Flask, Dash) is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables with attention to detail
- Effective collaborator with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation
