Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA)

Pay Rate: $155-160/hr

A medical center in Downey, California is seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to cover a vacancy. The provider will be doing complex orthopedic spine surgeries, including spinal fusions, decompress ions, deformity corrections, trauma, and revision procedures.

Qualifications of Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA):
  • Active California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
  • Board certification required
  • BLS, ACLS certifications
  • Proficiency in EPIC preferred
Duties/Responsibilities of Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA):
  • First assist in complex orthopedic spine surgeries, including spinal fusions, decompress ions, deformity corrections, trauma, and revision procedures.
  • Assist with exposure, retraction, hemostasis, instrumentation placement, and wound closure.
  • Review patient history, imaging, and surgical plans; ensure necessary equipment and implants are available.
  • Support fluoroscopic, navigation, and robotic-guided procedures while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety standards.
  • Apply dressings, assist with postoperative documentation, and communicate patient status during handoff to recovery and inpatient teams.
