About This Role

The Specialty Unit Staff RN provides professional nursing care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who excel in leadership and patient care within a dynamic healthcare environment.

• Pay: $58 - $80/hour
• Location: Downey, CA
• Facility: Downey Medical Center
• Department/Unit: Transitional Care Unit
• Schedule: Full-time, Night shift

• Provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
• Serve as a leader of the healthcare team and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care.
• Monitor patient progress and revise care plans as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Discuss patient findings and progress with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Practice customer service standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Mentor, orient, and coach others in unit-specific operations.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.

• Registered Nurse License (California)

• 1-year recent experience in a Critical Care, DOU, or SDU setting

• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic Arrhythmia course required
• Ventilator training required
