American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of Emergency Department experience and CA licensure.
Requirements- Active California RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS
- NIHSS certification preferred
- OCN and TNCC certifications preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, IV therapy, and phlebotomy
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Experience managing CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and interpretation of ABGs
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with ortho-trauma, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and near-drowning cases
- Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- References required at time of consideration
- Copies of required certifications must be included for consideration
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations
- Non-trauma Emergency Department with STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility designation
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 15-week contract with a hard start date
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma and non-trauma cases including cardiac, neuro, ortho, and pediatric emergencies
- Perform triage and manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Must pass an onsite Advanced EKG exam (80% or higher) prior to starting; one attempt only, assignment cancels if failed
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 3 RTO days for the entire contract
- Must be willing to work holidays
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront and cannot be modified except to cancel time off
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
