- One Member at a Time! A love of travel attracts many people to the field, but to succeed a Travel Consultant must be passionate about travel and the endless opportunities it brings to bridge history, cultures and cuisine. Successful Travel Consultant must have a strong sales drive, organizational skills with an eye for detail, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, demonstrated proficiency in navigating computers and various programs;
must possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability and interest to be in a continuous learning curve.
- Sell international and domestic travel packages including cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel.
- Share knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and/or education study trips.
- Develop long standing relationships with members and build referral and repeat business.
- Make appropriate recommendations to ensure the trip experience is more than expected and tailored to the members expectations.
- Cross sell relevant products to enhance the trip experience such as AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identify theft referrals.
- Extensive training to aid career development through The Auto Club University.
- Paid educational study trips are available for Agents to promote career development.
- Quarterly incentives/bonuses for achieving established production tiers.

- A high school diploma is required; a 2- or 4-year college degree is preferred.
- Comprehensive criminal background check and thorough urine sample drug screening required.
- Two to five years of sales experience in a performance‑driven environment.
- Strong closing skills and proven ability to meet or exceed monthly sales targets.
- Availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings.
- Completion of the Travel Consultant Trainee program which may include travel for training.
- Computer savvy with the ability to navigate between multiple systems and web browsers, Microsoft Office, and ability to type at least 30
WPM. - Comfortable with paperwork and highly organized.

Travel Consultants start at $23.50/hour with structured, hands‑on training to build skills and sales confidence. As they progress through a defined ramp‑up period and grow their pipeline, earnings increase. Once fully established and meeting sales goals, Travel Advisors typically earn $55,000–$65,000 annually through base pay and incentives, with top performers exceeding $85,000+ in an uncapped commission structure.
