Overview
Garda World Security Services is hiring a Surveillance Security Guard in Downey, CA. The role involves monitoring multiple security systems, spotting threats before they develop, and ensuring the safety of premises and personnel in environments such as security operations centers, call centers, and parking gatehouses.
Compensation and schedule:
- Hourly wage: $20 / hour (Daily Pay available for Garda World employees)
- Schedule:
49.5 hours per week- 1st Shift: Saturday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
- Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
- Uniform provided at no cost

- Monitor security systems to detect suspicious activity
- Document events and incidents, writing detailed reports
- Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety of the premises
- Control access to secure areas and verify the identities of visitors
- Analyze security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities or malfunctions
- Collaborate with law enforcement in case of serious situations or emergencies
- Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong report writing skills
- Sharp visual activity and exceptional concentration
- Strong proficiency with technology
- Strong customer service skills
- Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience is a plus
- State security license (BSIS Guard Card) and additional 32 hr. BSIS security trainings (additional trainings can be obtained during hiring)
