POSITION SUMMARY:
Functions as an Administrative Assistant, performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks primarily under the direction of Department Director. Responsibilities include accurate entry of fiscal, program, and contract information into Department databases; creation, analysis, interpretation, and follow-up of Veteran reports; maintaining effective relationships with Department staff and veterans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides clerical and office support, including redirecting calls, preparing and submitting correspondence, sorting and distributing department mail, updating department calendars and ordering office supplies and service for agency equipment.
- Creates, analyzes, and interprets reports on Department activities. Notifies Staff and director of significant state and federal law changes.
- Maintains and updates agency records as necessary.
- Conducts bi-weekly payroll.
- Works cooperatively with other
Personnel:
- Collects and executes all county, state, Civil Service and union required personnel actions under the direction of department staff.
- Files and submits burial reimbursement requests as needed.
- Prepares county payroll reports and distributes paychecks to employees.
- Prepares and updates agency organizational chart.
- Corresponds with Controllers and finance personnel regarding account information as necessary.
- Submits check requests, donation checks, cash donations and any fiscal needs to the appropriate departments.
- Conduct journal entries as needed.

• Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a two year college or university, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
