Compensation: $25.00 per hour (no additional pay for toileting)

Description:
Positions available for Special Education support staff for the Special Education Extended School Year Program. Responsibilities include supporting instruction, behavior, and activities of daily living, which also includes toileting. Employees perform a wide variety of duties in support of student(s) individualized education programs as directed and supervised by a professional staff member. Must work as a team member and exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Utilization of crisis prevention techniques/strategies (including possible restraint as a last resort) with students who require such in their IEP. Training will be provided via CBSD. Paraeducators are not permitted to take vacation time during the ESY Season.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years college course work or Associate Degree preferred. High School Diploma/Transcripts or GED equivalent required at time of hire (the minimum). Must work as a team member, exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks, effectively communicate with both students and adults and be a positive role model for students.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a school setting for extended periods, including but not limited to sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking, talking, hearing, climbing stairs, and lifting to 20 lbs. Some assignments may require lifting excess of 50 lbs. while assisting students with specific personal care needs, or restraint.
Procedure:

Interviews will be conducted on dates TBD if selected for an interview, you will be contacted by the Special Education Department. All employment is provisional for 90 days as required by ACT 168 of 2014, enacted December 22, 2014.
