Service Engineer Opportunity
Chant Engineering, based in the Doylestown, PA area, is a leading, diversified engineering company that designs, manufactures and services custom testing machines and aircraft hydraulic test stands for industrial and military customers worldwide. We manufacture standard machines as well as a lot of unique custom engineered testing equipment.
We are currently seeking a full-time Service Engineer. The Service Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting and scheduling in-house and on-the-road service on a wide variety of machinery. The Service Engineer must be a positive can-do person that is self-motivated, thrives in a troubleshooting environment, and can work both independently and collaboratively.
This is an in-office position with travel. Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen and background check and possess a clean driving record.
Service Engineer Responsibilities:
- Create and manage the Service tickets including scheduling, resource allocation, monitoring performance and providing feedback to customers.
- Collaborate with the Calibration Department.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrically controlled hydraulic machinery.
- Hands on testing and troubleshooting of our machines consisting of variable frequency drives, motor protection panels, and control systems.
- Assist calibration technicians with testing and troubleshooting activities
- Provide support to the production team as required.
- Handle service contracts and direct support services.
- Assist with training as needed.
- Perform other duties, as assigned, or as business needs require.
Service Engineer
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or Electrical Engineering experience preferred.
- 5 years related or equivalent experience as a Service Engineer.
- PLC programming is a plus.
- Familiarity with both hydraulic and electrical control systems.
- Experience with panel testing and validation to ensure quality and functionality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/assignments.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (word, excel, etc.).
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
