574POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs general grounds maintenance and minor repairs to equipment in parks and other County properties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• General maintenance of grounds and facilities - grass cutting and raking; leaf removal; snow and ice removal; plowing, salting and cindering of roads and walkways; grading, seeding, and general landscape maintenance of grounds, equipment and facilities.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles, buildings, and equipment.
• Operates large mowing machines, various trucks, and equipment.
• Ability to work with and lead or direct grounds maintenance forces as directed by management.
• Ability to complete small jobs/projects in related qualified trades area.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints, architectural sketches, equipment schematics, etc
• Carry our assignments as directed by management in repairs, alterations, additions, etc.
• May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job. More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CDL Class A with airbrake endorsement.
• Must possess a PA pesticide applicator license.
• Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of commercial landscaping/grounds or park experience.
• Knowledgeable in two or more trade level areas.
• Ability to get along with various types of people.
• Physical ability to perform required tasks.
