Excavator Operator

The H&K Group seeks an Experienced Excavator Operator to join our Skilled Labor team in the Construction industry. In this role, you will safely operate excavators for site prep, trenching, grading, utility installation, and material handling on civil and heavy construction projects. You'll read grade stakes and plans, perform daily equipment inspections, and coordinate with foremen and crews to maintain production and quality.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators for digging, trenching, grading, and material handling
• Read and follow grade stakes, site plans, and directions from foremen
• Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and documentation
• Work closely with site supervisors and crew to meet production goals
• Maintain strict compliance with safety policies, OSHA regulations, and traffic control
• Excavate for utilities, foundations, and sitework to required lines and grades
• Identify underground hazards and work around existing utilities
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and properly sloped or benched
• Assist with loading trucks and placing aggregates or backfill materials
• Report equipment issues, near-misses, and incidents promptly
