Department: M.G. Parker Memorial Library
Supervisor: Library Director
Union Status: Non-Union
Salary:$15.00 per hour
Position: Part-time
Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week
Schedule:

  • Monday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Thursday & Friday: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

FLSA: Non-Exempt
Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years old

Position Summary:

The Student Library Page is responsible for shelving materials throughout the library, keeping shelves neat and in order, and performing other related tasks as assigned.

Supervision:

Works under the general supervision of the Head Circulation Librarian according to established procedures and department policies and standards; duties require self-motivation and initiative.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions or duties listed below are illustrations of the type of work performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.

  • Shelving books and materials in all areas of the library
  • Searching for requested Interlibrary Loan items (Pull List)
  • Shifting and shelf reading
  • Searching for missing and lost materials
  • Maintaining the appearance and order of all library collections
  • Assisting with requests from other professional staff

The Library Director on an as needed basis may assign duties other than those listed.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Work is performed inside the M.G. Parker Memorial Library. Physical requirements include the ability to operate and view a computer screen, hear, speak, walk, sit, bend, reach, and grasp. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push/pull book carts weighing up to 150 pounds. Extended periods of standing or sitting may be required.

Additional Requirements:

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a CORI check, physical exam, and drug screen post-offer.
