Special Education Teacher - Secondary STRIVE (ASD) Program

Dracut High School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our High School STRIVE substantially separate program for students with autism spectrum disorder for the upcoming  school year. A certification in Severe Disabilities is preferred, but certifications in Moderate Disabilities will be considered.

• Provide specialized instruction to students in a Special Education setting
• Have a strong understanding of developmental milestones and modified curriculum at the elementary level
• Experience and general understanding of the concepts of Applied Behavioral Analysis
• Experience with being part of the instructional support team, including classroom teachers, auxiliary support service providers, BCBA and paraprofessionals
• Experience with IEP drafting and progress monitoring through the collection of data
• Experience with assessment and eligibility determination
• Strong organization, writing and communication skills

• Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations
• Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation
• Remain current on instructional practices in education (e.g. instructional technology)

• Massachusetts DESE certification in Severe Disabilities preferred
• Massachusetts DESE certification in Moderate Disabilities considered
• SEI Endorsement preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $54,216 to $103,413 Per Year
