Digital Literacy Teacher

The Richardson Middle School is seeking a Digital Literacy Teacher to join our team for the upcoming  school year.

Summary: To teach digital literacy skills in support of the integration of technology into the lives of students as well as to support learning in school settings.

• Teaches skills, knowledge and scientific attitudes through courses in technology education and literacy to students utilizing curriculum designated by the school district.
• Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the basic instructional philosophy to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
• Maintains and advances the knowledge of digital learning resources and educational technologies to support teaching and learning.
• Instructs students in subject matter specified in the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
• Plans a technology education program involving demonstrations, discussions and student experiments; organizes activities for optimal learning.
• Instructs students in the proper use, care and safe handling of equipment.
• Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, and other record keeping activities as necessary.
• Manages class operations by creating a positive class environment delivering instruction effectively by establishing high expectations for all students, presenting material in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Communicates with parents regarding student progress.
• Supervises students in assigned out of classroom activities during the working day.
• Models ethical behavior, skills proficiency and responsible use of online and educational technology resources.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal.

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $54,216 to $103,413 Per Year

• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in Digital Literacy.
• SEI endorsement.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and trends in a digital environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students.
• Ability to work positively and collaboratively on a team.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
