Position Summary

Responsible for supporting end‑of‑line product testing, in‑process inspection, receiving inspection, and failure analysis within the Quality Control department. Ensures reliable testing in accordance with ISO, MED, MER, CE, and internal standards, and accurately reports quality defects or deviations. Prepares detailed test documentation and reports, utilizing specialized equipment and approved methodologies. Supports Quality Control operations to maintain continuous readiness for third‑party auditing and certification (ISO 9001:2015, MED, MER, CE).

Contributes to the Quality Management System (QMS) by identifying non‑conformities, conducting root‑cause analysis, supporting corrective actions, and tracking follow‑up activities. Conducts internal audits as required. Collaborates closely with Manufacturing and Technical Design teams to align quality testing with production schedules and technical requirements. Works under the guidance of the Quality Control Supervisor to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001:2015‑certified QMS.

This role is intended to develop into a leadership position. The ideal candidate is organized, detail‑oriented, analytically driven, and thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct rigorous testing of materials and finished products in accordance with ISO, Marine Equipment Directive (MED), Marine Equipment Regulation (MER), and customer‑specified standards.
  • Maintain accurate, traceable documentation of testing data and measurement results; ensure records are organized and readily retrievable.
  • Prepare and modify quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection checklists to support process improvements.
  • Utilize statistical analysis to identify non‑conformances, perform root‑cause analysis, trend analysis, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review and evaluate calibration certificates; ensure compliance with calibration standards (ISO 17025 / ANSI Z540 experience preferred).
  • Coordinate calibration activities and identify potential equipment capability gaps.
  • Identify training and process improvement opportunities; support training program objectives.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Technical Design teams to improve processes and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
  • Provide customer and supplier support as needed.
  • Communicate effectively within a matrixed environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.
  • ASQ Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ISO, MED, and MER standards related to material testing and quality control preferred.
  • Leadership‑oriented and process‑driven mindset with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software applications.
  • Experience with audits, corrective actions, and quality documentation processes.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Work Schedule
  • Full‑time, typically 1st shift.
  • Flexibility to support extended hours or alternate shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity for detailed inspection and work in varying lighting conditions.
  • Adequate hearing to communicate and monitor equipment.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with variable temperatures.
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, vibrations, and potentially hazardous materials.
