Join our dynamic team! Part time Social Skills Coach needed 4-12 hours per week (weekday afternoon/evening and possibly Saturday). Coach individuals ages 8 – young adult with mild to moderate social challenges. Candidates must enjoy individuals of all abilities and be able to effectively communicate social instruction to varying levels of cognitive understanding. Ideal candidate will have a special education, psychology, guidance counselor or social work background with additional experience with positive psychology, Collaborative Problem Solving, bullying prevention, and emotion regulation.
Topic areas for coaching are: friendship, empathy/respect, conflict resolution, impulse control, sportsmanship, flexible thinking, problem solving, body language, emotion/anxiety management, personal space, communication/conversation, transitioning, learned optimism/resiliency, perspective taking, and mindfulness. On-the-job training provided for our unique program.
- Responsibilities:
Social coach ages 8 - young adult in an unstructured environment, Coach on resiliency, optimism, and self esteem, Candidates will be trained to implement the Simply Social Kids proprietary program, Coaching will be primarily in person and with potential for online and candidate must be comfortable using Zoom, Individual must keep confidential any and all information about families who participate in, and/or inquire about programs and products, Position requires routine communication with families and supervisor, All employees must pass CORI checks annually. - Special Education teachers, Guidance Counselors, Psychology and Social Work majors preferred. Compensation based on experience.
