Social Engagement Director – Full Time (Arbors/Ivy Assisted Living Community)

You will be the energy behind our 7‑day‑a‑week engagement calendar and the connector who learns what each resident loves, what they used to enjoy, and what they wish could still be possible, finding creative ways to bring that spark back.

• Design and execute a dynamic, well‑organized recreational program every week
• Learn residents’ interests by observing, listening, and asking thoughtful questions
• Increase participation by redesigning programs when interest dips
• Plan outings (shopping, movies, museums, lunch, concerts) and safely drive our 15‑passenger van
• Build trust with residents and families through consistent, warm communication
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers and activity assistants
• Publish polished monthly calendars and newsletters (accuracy matters!)
• Lead special events that bring joy, connection, and purpose
• Contribute to occupancy growth by helping families feel confident recommending our community

• Love seniors and genuinely enjoy being around them

• Keep organized systems and accurate schedules

• Sense quiet residents and devise ways to draw them in

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in therapeutic recreation
• Minimum one year experience working with elders (home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing)
• Demonstrated experience developing recreational programs
• Must meet Registry of Motor Vehicles requirements to drive residents
