(RLW) is looking for an Assistant Safety Director who thrives in the field, builds strong relationships with operations teams, and wants to play a key role in driving safety across large-scale heavy civil projects throughout the Western U.S.
This is not a desk-only position. We are looking for someone who enjoys being on projects, partnering with field leadership, mentoring teams, and helping create a strong safety culture where people go home safe every day.

What You'll Be Working On
Transportation and roadway infrastructureStructural concrete and bridgesWater and wastewater facilitiesMission critical/data center infrastructureMass excavation and earthworkHeavy foundations and underground utilitiesWhat You'll Do
Support and help lead safety operations across multiple heavy civil projectsTravel regularly to jobsites throughout the Western U.S. to support field teams and safety initiativesPartner closely with operations leadership, superintendents, and project teams to proactively drive safe work practicesConduct jobsite audits, inspections, incident investigations, and safety coachingHelp develop and implement company safety programs, procedures, and training initiativesMentor and support field safety professionals and project leadership teamsAssist with OSHA compliance, documentation, reporting, and corrective action follow-throughPromote a culture where safety is viewed as an operational advantage — not just a requirementWhat We're Looking For
Strong safety leadership experience within heavy civil constructionExperience supporting projects such as roadway, structural concrete, excavation, utilities, bridges, or water/wastewaterAbility and willingness to travel frequently to active jobsitesStrong communication skills with the ability to build trust in the field and with leadership teamsWorking knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practicesCHST/OSHA 500/510 or related certifications requiredSomeone who is proactive, field-focused, and passionate about developing strong teams and safe projectsEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are an equal opportunity employer:
