Overview:
We're seeking an experienced manager to oversee our photo and video functions at Studio McGee and McGee & Co. As Senior Manager of Photo & Video, you'll be the operational force behind every image and piece of content that represents our brands across all channels. This role blends creative intuition with operational excellence. You'll own the full technical and operational execution of photography and video—from studio operations and on-set production to post-production workflows and digital asset management.
Working closely with our Director of Brand Creative, you'll be at the center of our brand's visual storytelling, ensuring seamless integration between marketing initiatives and creative execution.
You’ll lead a talented team of photographers, photo editors, video editors, and asset managers while establishing photography standards, systems, and processes that ensure image quality, consistency, and efficiency s role is ideal for someone who can expertly manage production workflows, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and drive innovation within a creative team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop in-house photographers, photo editors, video editors, and asset management specialists
- Manage freelance photographers and editors, including contracts and vendor relationships.
- Design and optimize production workflows, balancing quality, speed, and budget
- Manage photography budgets, licensing, external pricing, and talent/licensing contracts
- Improve photo workflows, systems, and documentation
- Stay current with industry trends and explore emerging technologies to enhance and scale visual content. Evaluate and implement new photography tools, including AI, CGI, and studio innovations
- Plan and schedule all studio and location photo shoots, including shoot batches, timelines, and calendars
- Coordinate shot lists and priorities with Styling, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing teams
- Determine photography talent for specific tiers of photoshoots and oversee McGee home and location photography
- Provide live photography approval during studio shoots and attend McGee & Co campaigns as needed
- Manage on-location and studio lighting setups and oversee all photo equipment inventory
- Ensure brand consistency across all photography and upload/organize assets in Widen DAM. Maintain photo editing standards and manage post-production workflow.
- Act as primary photo point of contact for Buying/Product, Marketing, VM, and IT
- Partner with Chief Creative Officer, Director of Brand Creative, VP of Visual, and Creative Director to establish visual standards and ensure photography direction aligns with brand strategy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or related field
- 5+ years of experience managing a creative team or photo studio
- Proven experience in art direction, photo editing, creative direction, or photography (preferably in interior design or architecture)
- Demonstrated experience managing photo editors, asset managers, and photographers.
- Experience using project management software like Asana.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
- Comprehensive understanding of lighting techniques, composition principles, and color theory
- Experience with professional photography equipment and studio/location lighting setups.
