- Issue license plates, permits, registrations, certificates, etc.
- Receive, research and respond to incoming questions or complaints; provide information, explain policy and procedures, and/or facilitate a resolution.
- Process transactions at a Point of Sale system, give correct change and close cash drawer at the end of shift.
- Assist the public and others to complete forms, applications and other paperwork.
- Examine documents to verify applicability, legibility, completeness, accuracy, and/or consistency of information from one document to another, etc.
- Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, in writing and/or verbally; read and understand information presented in writing.
- Perform comprehensive physical inspection of motor vehicles to verify the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
Non-state employees are hired for this position at $19.20 an hour. We are unable to negotiate hourly wage amounts. DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers for current state employees.
Qualifications- Experience in understanding processes and procedures and to apply those in day to day functions.
- Experience with effectively communicating with a wide variety of people.
- Experience in following laws and rules and handling customers tactfully and with professionalism.
- Experience using computer programs in day to day functions.
- Experience with attention to detail and accurately handling money.
