Job Description & How to Apply Below
Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented CAD Technician to support our residential design team by producing accurate construction drawings, plan sets, and revisions. This role focuses on drafting, documentation, redlines, and maintaining drawing standards to help projects move efficiently from concept through permit-ready plans. Just as important as technical ability: we want the right person—someone who brings a great attitude, communicates well, and fits into our team.
Company culture matters to us. We’re building something fun and high-performing, and we want someone who’s excited to grow with it. If you’re motivated and coachable,
we’re willing to train the right candidate
.
- A strong entry point (or next step) into residential design and architecture
- Hands-on experience with real projects and real deadlines (in a supportive environment)
- Opportunities for growth as your skills expand—more responsibility, more project ownership, and a clear path forward
- Work with a team that takes quality seriously but also enjoys coming to work
- Produce and revise CAD drawings for residential projects (floor plans, elevations, sections, details, site plans as needed).
- Convert sketches, markups, and design direction into clean, accurate construction documents.
- Apply redlines and manage revisions quickly and consistently.
- Maintain drawing standards, layers, templates, and title blocks.
- Coordinate backgrounds and reference files (surveys, civil/site plans, consultant drawings).
- Prepare permit and builder plan sets, including sheet organization and basic notes/dimensions.
- Support builder changes and updates during construction.
- Assist with basic schedules/documentation (windows/doors, finishes, etc.) as needed.
- Communicate with project leads to confirm scope, deadlines, and drawing intent.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in clean, consistent drawings.
- Good organization and file management habits.
- Ability to take direction, ask smart questions, and apply feedback.
- Reliable, communicative, and team-oriented.
- 1–3+ years drafting experience in residential architecture, homebuilding, or engineering.
- Familiarity with creating permit-ready plan sets.
- Understanding of typical residential construction systems (foundations, framing, roofs).
- Experience with Revit/3D coordination.
- Coach-able and hungry to improve
- Detail-driven, but not afraid to move fast when needed
- Positive, humble, and solution-oriented
- The kind of person people enjoy working with (culture matters here)
- Clean, buildable drawings delivered on schedule
- Revisions handled accurately with minimal back-and-forth
- Consistent use of templates/standards
- Strong communication and reliability
- Growing skills and increasing ownership over time
