Join BILL as a Sr. Manager, Risk Portfolio and Strategic Initiatives and help shape how the Risk Management division executes Portfolio Management and Strategic Initiatives team sits at the intersection of risk strategy and operational execution, owning the programs, partnerships, and frameworks that enable BILL's risk organization to move quickly and with confidence. This team works directly with senior leadership and cross‑functional partners to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes across credit risk, fraud risk, and reputational risk domains.
In this role, you will own program and vendor management for the Risk organization, build operating frameworks that reduce manual processes through AI tooling and automation, and lead a team of analysts and portfolio managers focused on strategic execution. Your work will directly support BILL's ability to protect hundreds of thousands of SMBs who rely on our financial automation platform to manage cash flow, process payments, and run their operations every day.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of strategic portfolio plans across the Risk Management division, managing end‑to‑end delivery of cross‑functional programs from scoping through completion.
- Build and maintain operating frameworks that support risk strategic initiatives, including the evaluation and deployment of AI tooling to reduce manual workflows and improve team efficiency.
- Own third‑party vendor relationships from selection and contract negotiation through ongoing performance evaluation, ROI monitoring, and budget oversight, ensuring vendors deliver measurable value to risk management programs.
- Drive prioritization and alignment across risk initiatives by communicating clear objectives, timelines, and resource plans to senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Partner closely with risk analysts, data scientists, and business partners across compliance, fraud, and credit risk to integrate risk management strategies and provide thought leadership on data‑driven practices.
- Lead and develop a team of data analysts and portfolio managers, providing coaching on portfolio management best practices, quantitative analysis, and strategic storytelling.
- Oversee governance processes within the Risk division, ensuring programs are tracked, reported, and adjusted based on performance data and shifting organizational priorities.

- 8 or more years of experience in risk management, portfolio analytics, program management, or a related field within financial services or fintech.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross‑functional programs with clear ownership over scope, timelines, deliverables, and budget.
- Hands‑on experience managing third‑party vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance measurement, and ROI tracking.
- Strong working knowledge of payment products and risk management principles across credit, fraud, and reputational risk domains.
