Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) WEEKENDS

This position is only for weekends. The Valencia at Draper is hiring medtechs, caregivers, and CNA's for WEEKENDS, both part time and full time. The Valencia at Draper is a locally owned assisted living and memory care community with staff who cares and a supportive management team. Apply and join the team today!

Position Summary

Ensure excellent care is provided to residents that reside in community, under the direction of the Wellness Director, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide resident care by assisting residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, assisting with oral care and incontinence.
  • Assist residents with medication by reminding residents to take medications, opening their containers, reading instructions on labels, observing residents taking medications and properly documenting/signing medications immediately after medication assistance.
  • Sign and date all ADL's (activities of daily living) in resident charts, fill out resident incident reports immediately after incident, communicate verbally and in writing to the RN and other CNA's everything that will help maintain excellent care for the residents.
  • Attend and take part in all scheduled In-Services and meetings.
  • Assist with housekeeping by washing resident dishes, changing sheets, making beds, washing resident's laundry, cleaning rooms and emptying trash container.
  • Assist residents with meals by encouraging and escorting them to dining room or by serving meals to rooms as needed.
  • Assist residents with activities by encouraging participation, escorting them to activities, and assisting with activities as needed.

Qualifications
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    First Aid Certification, CPR Certification, Food Handlers Permit.
  • Other

    Skills and Abilities:

    Skills with elderly people. Customer Service.
