Position: Client Mentor (Day & Swing Shifts)

Corner Canyon Health Centers is a Residential Treatment program for adults experiencing mental health concerns of all forms. We specialize in trauma and with the LGBTQIA+ population.

The Client Mentor is responsible for ensuring client safety, supervision, and engagement throughout their assigned shift. This role provides direct care and oversight within the residential treatment setting, maintains awareness of the physical location of all clients, and ensures the daily program schedule is executed effectively. The Client Mentor responds to crises, supports house logistics, and collaborates with the Shift Supervisor and House Manager to maintain a structured, trauma-informed environment.

The Client Mentor plays a critical role in modeling healthy behaviors, maintaining emotional safety, facilitating programming, transporting clients, administering medications per Corner Canyon protocol, and completing accurate documentation. This position requires strong crisis management skills, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries while fostering positive relationships with clients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Client Supervision & Safety: Maintain continuous awareness of the physical location and safety of all assigned clients during the shift.
  • Facility Cleanliness & Environment of Care: Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly facility throughout the shift to promote client healing, emotional regulation, and overall safety. Complete assigned cleaning tasks, address sanitation concerns, and ensure common areas, client spaces, and staff work areas meet Corner Canyon standards and infection-control protocol
  • Program Implementation: Execute and support the daily programming schedule, including groups, individual sessions, activities, urine screenings, and other structured programming components.
  • Role Modeling & Life

    Skills:

    Provide positive role modeling and reinforce life skills development consistent with program values and expectations.
  • Crisis Response: Serve as first responder to crisis situations, utilizing approved de-escalation and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment.
  • Medication Administration: Dispense and document medications in accordance with Corner Canyon protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Urinalysis/Breathalyzer Administration: Conduct breathalyzer & urine analysis screenings and accessioning per established procedures.
  • Client Transportation: Transport clients safely to appointments, outings, and activities in compliance with Corner Canyon policies and insurance requirements.
  • Documentation: Complete accurate and timely shift notes, incident reports, and required documentation within the electronic health record system.
  • Shift Communication: Relay pertinent client and operational information to the Shift Supervisor during shift pass-down to ensure continuity of care.
  • House Logistics Support: Assist with house operations, problem-solving unforeseen shift dilemmas, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Administrative & Special Assignments: Collaborate with Supervisors and House Manager on administrative tasks, scheduling updates, and special projects as assigned.

    Collaboration:

    Build strong working relationships with clients and staff, contribute to team cohesion, and participate in program improvement initiatives.
  • Training & Meetings: Attend required staff meetings/trainings, and maintain all assigned certifications and competencies.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow all organizational policies, safety protocols, and compliance standards to ensure regulatory and accreditation alignment.
Qualifications
  • Experience in the behavioral health field is preferred.
  • Crisis management and de-escalation experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to remain alert, attentive, and responsive throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Proficiency in documentation, compliance tracking, and reporting systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing client needs and facility demands.
Additional Information

Day Shift is from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Swing Shift is from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Weekday and Weekend positions are needed.
