As an Operations Engineer, you will monitor and maintain more than 14,000 servers and 250 network devices located in more than 8 data centers worldwide. NOC Engineers troubleshoot and resolve routine and complex network, hardware, and OS issues in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining a 99.99% uptime rate for all systems. The role operates in a rotating shift pattern.
Work schedule:
7:00AM – 6:00PM (Eastern Time), four‑day workweek.
- Monitor internal and production systems and escalating/paging level‑two engineers.
- Work trouble tickets effectively and efficiently and engage Engineering, Support, QA, and other personnel in accordance with established processes and procedures.
- Document problem descriptions and provide detailed problem diagnosis with accuracy and in compliance with established practices.
- Review and update the status of problems in the trouble‑ticketing system.
- Assist in maintaining Operations documentation including support guides, knowledge‑base articles, and procedures.
- Participate in the transfer of information from one shift to the next.
- Previous experience working within a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Operations environment.
- Knowledge of Linux (command line).
- Previous experience with Bash and/or Python or other Linux scripting/programming languages.
- Previous experience with monitoring tools (Nagios preferred).
- Familiarity with trouble‑ticketing systems (Jira, Lighthouse, Bugzilla, etc.).
- Experience troubleshooting Linux.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, initiative, and leadership abilities.
- Effective analytical, planning, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize while under pressure.
- Experience working with Fortune Global 500, highly integrated, multi‑vendor ecosystems with OC‑to‑OC communications.
- Linux and/or Microsoft certifications are an asset.
- US citizenship required.
