The Machinist II is a highly motivated, technically competent machinist who will manufacture and produce medical implants/instruments parts according to documented procedures for Ortho Development in a production environment. You will work in a clean, safe work environment with great benefits. We are looking for a 2nd shift candidate (2:30 PM - 1:00 AM) working M - TH.
Principal Responsibilities- Operate CNC machines, and routinely preform changeovers to ensure timely part delivery
- Operate laser markers, grit blasters, buffing tools, inspection equipment, and other related machines
- Verify machine setup and adjust settings to maintain tolerance and quality standards
- Load raw materials, replace cutting tools, and follow setup procedures for machining operations
- Maintain accurate production records, verify part quantities, and adhere to production schedules
- Adhere to procedures and work instructions to manufacture quality parts
- Read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- Perform routine maintenance on machines or tools
- Work safely and actively promote a safe work culture
- Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements while maintaining a clean, organized 5S work area
- Identify improvements and participate in the continuous improvement culture
- Escalate issues, deviations, defects or concerns immediately
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to ensure successful machining operations
- Specific training courses in this field:
Machining certificate or trade school preferred
- 2-5 years experience
- 5 Axis milling and Turning
- Use of inspection equipment, e.g. calipers, microscope, optical measurement
- Operation of manual and coordinated measuring machines
- Experience with manual mill and lathe preferred
