Job Summary

As a highly-skilled and compassionate Labor & Delivery Nurse, you will provide direct patient care in the Labor & Delivery setting, ensuring individualized care plans and supporting patients and their families throughout the perinatal process.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome each perinatal patient to the L&D Unit and promote a feeling of security.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient’s clinical condition, including fetal monitoring and diagnostic results.
  • Perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all areas of Maternal Child health.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.
Qualifications
  • Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification within 7 days of hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and certification within 90 days of hire and ongoing maintenance.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certification within 90 days of hire and ongoing maintenance.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Fetal Monitoring certification preferred; obtain NRP within 90 days of hire and maintain thereafter.
  • One or more years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
