About Droplet
About Droplet Droplet provides a suite of document automation tools that helps organizations get the right information to the right people, fast. What started as a web form and approval workflow solution, built for school districts, out of a garage in Provo, Utah, has grown into one of the fastest-growing software companies in the nation! We're a lean team of 30 motivated, hardworking individuals who are passionate about solving hard problems and delivering real value to customers.
Our two flagship products, Droplet Forms and Droplet Sign, are leading the charge in helping organizations move away from paper-based processes and embrace the 21st century. With strong year-over-year revenue growth, great financial stability (we're profitable!), and many more exciting products to come, Droplet is only just getting started! Let's be honest about job descriptions for a second You've read fifty of these.
They all say "detail-oriented," "self-starter," "wear many hats." Here's the actual pitch: we're a 30-person SaaS company in Draper that's grown up past the "figure it out with a shoebox of receipts" stage, and we need someone who genuinely likes accounting to come own it! We're talking the close, the recs, the "why doesn't this number match that number" detective work.
If the idea of a clean close and a tidy balance sheet gives you a small dopamine hit, keep reading.
- Running the monthly and quarterly close and making it faster and cleaner every quarter, not just repeating the same process forever
- Owning revenue recognition for our subscription revenue (you know about ASC 606 and maybe you have feelings about it)
- Producing financial statements that actual humans outside of finance can understand
- Building and tightening internal controls as we scale, before we need them, not after something breaks
- Keeping AP, AR, and payroll accounting in good shape
- Being the point person for our external auditors and tax preparers when that season rolls around
- Handling multi-state sales tax compliance (glamorous, we know)
- Helping with cash flow forecasting and budget-to-actual so leadership isn't flying blind
- Spotting the manual, clunky part of a process and fixing it before anyone asks you to
- Working directly with Finance, Sales, and leadership—you won't be locked in a back office; people will actually know your name
- If we grow the team, showing someone newer how to do this well
- 2+ years of accounting experience, with real ownership of a full month-end close
- SaaS or subscription-business experience so you can hit the ground running instead of learning revenue rec from scratch
- Solid GAAP knowledge, especially ASC 606
- Comfort with modern tools (Quick Books Online, , or similar) and genuinely good Excel skills
- The ability to work independently, since we're lean, so you'll have real autonomy, not a fifteen-person approval chain
- The ability to explain a variance to someone who doesn't know what a variance is, without making them feel dumb
- Bonus points, not requirements: CPA (active or in progress)
- Startup or small-company experience—you know what "we don't have a process for this yet" feels like
- Multi-state payroll or tax exposure
- Equity or cap table accounting experience
- The practical stuff
- Base salary: $70,000–$90,000, depending on experience
- Standard benefits package: fully subsidized medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k), and PTO
- Growing team, real influence over how finance operates as we scale
Droplet builds workflow automation software for K-12 schools and districts—the kind of behind-the-scenes tooling that quietly saves administrators hours every week. We work with over 270 school districts nationwide, and we're still small enough that…
