Job Overview

We are looking for an Inside Sales Engineer to partner with Commercial accounts and serve as the technical lead for the pre‑sales process. The role requires delivering compelling product demonstrations, proof‑of‑concepts, and complex security solutions while acting as a trusted advisor to our sales team and customers.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute targeted account penetration strategies.
- Build trust and rapport with customers and prospects, serving as their primary technical point of contact.
- Deliver high‑volume, compelling product demonstrations that address today’s most pressing cyber threats based on industry, compliance, and security initiatives.
- Work closely with customer/prospect security staff for technical discovery, and plan, execute, and wrap up Proof‑of‑Concept (POC) and Production Evaluations.
- Design and champion complex People‑Centric Security solutions across the Proofpoint portfolio.
- Provide occasional assistance with professional services deployments, technical training, and industry seminars or trade shows.
- Offer customer insight and real‑world experiences to Product Management, Marketing, and Product Development teams.
- Become an expert in Email Security Gateways, Advanced Persistent Threats, Attack Protection, Threat Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and the threat landscape.
- 6+ years of hands‑on technical experience in a customer‑facing security role such as Sales/Systems Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer, or senior product support.
- Experience with Enterprise or Cloud Security solutions, including cloud/SaaS platforms, messaging, data, network, endpoint, NOC/SOC, or MSP‑related cybersecurity.
- Strong background in consultative problem‑solving and a desire to pursue a sales‑focused career.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment and work independently with a positive attitude.
- Excellent PowerPoint, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- CISSP or other relevant cyber‑security and cloud security certification is valued.
- Cloud security and shadow IT monitoring.
- IT security, vulnerability or risk assessments, security operations, and policy enforcement.
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP), compliance, and privacy.
- Enterprise email solutions (e.g., Exchange/O365, G‑Suite, Lotus Domino) and MTA knowledge (Postfix, Sendmail, etc.).
- Directory Services and protocols such as Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, iDP (identity providers).
- Email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
- Networking and protocols such as SMTP, DNS, LDAP, HTTP.
- Framework experience with MITRE and/or NIST.
