Position Overview
Looking for an opportunity to grow? We are willing to train in the technical knowledge of asphalt production. The ideal candidate is:

- Has minimum 5 years related construction experience (desired)
- Coordinate asphalt plant activities
- Communicate daily workload
- Facilitate scheduling of liquids, aggregate and plant start up
- Communicate with customers on daily demands and scheduling
- Complete required daily production logs and timesheets
- Lead crew in safety culture and help ensure a safe working environment
- Work with the asphalt Superintendent to achieve timely job specific instructions
- Supervise/coordinate, train, and coach assigned personnel in the completion of jobs and daily work duties
- Coordinate with QC to ensure a quality product daily
- Supervise equipment operators and laborers to ensure safe and correct work
- Perform the duties of an equipment operator and laborer when necessary
- Ensure employees operate and maintain equipment properly. Notify shop of equipment mechanical and safety issues
- Maintain job site and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
- Maintain time and material records necessary for daily job costing
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Pass a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical
- Provide valid I‑9 documentation
- Display professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors, and the public
- Report to work at the designated start time
- Ability to work long hours when required
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required
- Complete safe driver training, possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications and able to learn new software systems as needed
- Communicate appropriately with direct reports, co‑workers, supervisors, and the public
- Use decision‑making skills for cost‑effective solutions on jobs in the absence of a superintendent
- Customer Service – manage difficult or emotional employee situations, respond promptly to employee needs, request service and assistance, meet commitments
- Teamwork – contribute to building a positive team spirit
- Judgment – exhibit sound and accurate judgment
- Planning/Organizing – use time efficiently
