Asphalt Plant Foreperson

Position Overview
Looking for opportunity to grow? We are willing to train in the technical knowledge of asphalt production! We are looking for someone with the following characteristics:

- Basic math skills
- Related experience in construction field, minimum 5 years (desired)
Work Requirements
- Coordinate asphalt plant activities.
- Communicate daily workload.
- Facilitate scheduling of liquids, aggregate and plant start up.
- Communicate with customers on daily demands and scheduling.
- Complete required daily production logs and time sheets.
- Lead crew in our safety culture and help ensure a safe working environment.
- Work with the asphalt Superintendent to achieve timely job specific instructions.
- Supervise/ coordinate, train, and coach assigned personnel in the completion of jobs and daily work duties.
- Coordinate With QC to ensure a quality product daily.
- Supervise equipment operators and laborers to ensure that work is being done safely and correctly.
- Perform the duties of an equipment operator and laborer when necessary.
- Ensure that employees operate and maintain equipment properly.
- Notify shop of equipment mechanical and safety issues
- Ensure job site and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion
- Maintain time and material records necessary for completing daily job costing
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Able to perform essential job functions with/ without reasonable accommodation.
Work Requirements
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical.
- Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
- Report to work at the designated start time.
- Be able to work long hours when required.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Must be able to complete safe driver training, possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications with the ability to learn new software systems as needed.
- Be able to communicate appropriately with direct reports, co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
- Ability to use decision making skills for cost effective solutions on jobs in the absence of a superintendent

Physical Requirements
- The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
