Cox Automotive is searching for a Software Engineer II. This assignment is a 6-month W2 contract with the opportunity for extension or a permanent, full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Shift/HoursMonday - Friday; 40 hours per week
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain backend services using C# and the .NET framework.
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs and database schemas within AWS.
- Actively participate in and lead technical code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance standards.
- Collaborate with Architects and Project Managers to clarify technical constraints and project requirements.
- Bridge the gap between technical complexity and stakeholder needs through clear, professional communication.
- Strong professional experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using C#.
- Comfortable with .NET Core/6+ and building modern, scalable backend applications.
- Practical experience developing within the AWS ecosystem (e.g., Lambda, Dynamo
DB, RDS, SQS). - Understanding of deploying and managing services in a cloud-native environment.
- Proven ability to build robust Web APIs and interact with both relational and non-relational databases.
- Knowledge of data modeling, indexing, and query optimization.
- High level of proficiency in performing technical peer reviews.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and maintain code quality across the team.
- Ability to articulate complex technical requirements to a diverse audience, including architects, PMs, and challenging personality types.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Node.js for automation, utility scripts, or rapid prototyping (nice to have).
- Experience defining and managing AWS resources via Terraform (nice to have).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline workflows and tools like Git Hub Actions (nice to have).
- Experience with unit and integration testing using frameworks like xUnit or Moq (nice to have).
- Test-first mindset to ensure code reliability.
- Target years of experience: 1-3.
- Must be USC/GC only.
- Candidate should be based out of Draper, UT with flexible onsite schedule (2-3 days a week).
