Independent Study Teacher

Position

Teaching position in grades 7‑12 at Opportunities for Learning (OFL), a free, non‑profit public charter school network.

• Deliver the educational program and use data‑driven, results‑based instruction.
• Teach students for mastery of the Common Core Standards in single‑subject areas; create lesson plans and differentiate instruction.
• Provide six hours of direct instruction per day.
• Use assessments and data to inform instruction; maintain grades, attendance, and retention records.
• Provide targeted interventions for special education students and English Language Learners.
• Assist with state‑mandated testing, participate in community groups, faculty meetings, professional development workshops and conferences.
• Meet with students and parents to discuss progress and problems.

• BA/BS degree.
• California preliminary or clear single‑subject teaching credential with English Language Authorization (ELA).
• Credential must be active; intern‑eligible candidates approved.

• Excited about student success and passionate about teaching.
• Ability to motivate, inspire, and build strong relationships with students.
• Knowledgeable in Common Core Standards and able to differentiate instruction.

Pay Range: $2,807.70 – $4,038.47 bi‑weekly, depending on experience.
