We are seeking an experienced and visionary Nurse Manager to oversee the Hematology Ambulatory Clinics & Transplant Nurse Coordination teams to provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership for our growing programs. This leader will play a pivotal role in supporting innovative programs, including Gene Therapy and other emerging cellular therapies, while helping to shape the future of hematologic cancer care.

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership, operational oversight, and strategic development of the Hematology Ambulatory Clinics and Transplant Coordination program. This role oversees outpatient hematology nursing operations, nurse coordinators supporting Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Cellular Therapy programs, and multiple complex initiatives designed to enhance patient outcomes and care delivery. The manager will lead a high‑performing team focused on providing exceptional care to patients transitioning from inpatient to ambulatory settings.

In addition, this leader will partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, operations leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement new programs, optimize workflows, and support innovative therapies.

Key Responsibilities Clinical & Operational Leadership
  • Provide leadership and oversight for Hematology Ambulatory Clinic operations, ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centered care delivery.
  • Manage nursing operations across a four‑quad outpatient hematology clinic serving approximately 300–400 patient visits per week.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and evidence‑based practice.
  • Monitor clinic performance metrics and develop action plans to improve patient experience, quality outcomes, access, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead staffing, scheduling, productivity management, and resource allocation to support clinical operations.
Transplant & Cellular Therapy Coordination Leadership
  • Provide direct leadership for Nurse Coordinators supporting:
    • Matched Unrelated Donor (MUD) Transplants
    • Autologous and Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
    • CAR‑T Cell Therapy
    • Emerging Cellular and Gene Therapy programs
  • Partner with physicians and program leadership to ensure seamless patient navigation throughout the transplant and cellular therapy continuum.
  • Support program growth and expansion initiatives within hematology, transplant, and cellular therapy services.
Program Development & Strategic Initiatives
  • Lead and oversee multiple hematology‑related projects and strategic initiatives, including Gene Therapy implementation and expansion efforts.
  • Collaborate with executive and physician leadership to build new clinical programs from concept through implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and enhanced patient outcomes.
  • Participate in business planning, program development, and growth strategies for ambulatory hematology services.
Patient Care Oversight
  • Ensure excellence in outpatient hematology nursing care, including:
    • Comprehensive patient assessments
    • Central line and dressing care
    • Patient and caregiver education
    • Symptom management
    • Neurotoxicity monitoring and assessments
    • Coordination of complex treatment plans
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top nursing talent.
  • Foster employee engagement, professional growth, and succession planning.
  • Coach and develop charge nurses, nurse coordinators, and clinical staff to achieve departmental goals.
  • Create an environment that supports collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Your qualifications should include:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or BSN not required if holds MSN)
  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an area of expertise relevant to the department with demonstrated progressive leadership growth.
  • American Heart Association‑Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams in an ambulatory or acute care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of hematology, oncology, transplant, and cellular therapy patient populations.
