The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate II to join Dr. Jen Jen Yeh’s laboratory.
The group is focused on the studies of cancer genomics and novel therapies.
As a successful candidate, you will:- Analyze genomic and proteomic data and generate expression matrices using preexisting code.
- Write short Perl/Python scripts to support straightforward data analysis and application tasks.
- Run established computational pipelines accurately and consistently.
- Perform molecular biology procedures, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA quantification, and RNA quantification.
- Follow and execute bench protocols with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Conduct tissue culture experiments that require careful technique and documentation.
- Handle animal‑related research activities in accordance with laboratory protocols and study needs.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, experimental, problem‑solving, and oral/written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
- Two years related research/ laboratory experience with a Bachelor’s degree or one year related research/ laboratory experience with a Master’s degree.
- Experience with in‑vitro tissue culture method assays.
- Experience with in‑vivo tumor efficacy studies.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of molecular biology techniques.
- Ability to present data in a precise and understandable format.
- Experience working with a mouse colony.
- Experience with non‑invasive imaging modalities.
