About the Role – Document Controller
The Document Controller is responsible for managing, organizing, and controlling project documentation to ensure accuracy, version control, and timely accessibility. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can coordinate between project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients while ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all project documentation, including drawings, reports, contracts, correspondence, and technical documents
- Ensure proper document control procedures and version management across all project documents
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems for easy retrieval and audit compliance
- Receive, review, and distribute incoming and outgoing documents to relevant stakeholders
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure timely submission and approval of documents
- Track document status, approvals, revisions, and deadlines
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and client requirements
- Prepare and maintain document registers, logs, and reports for management review
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing organized documentation
- Support the project team with archiving, document retrieval, and reporting
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience as a Document Controller in construction or real estate projects
- Experience with project documentation systems, ERP, or document management software
- Knowledge of ISO documentation standards and project workflows is preferred
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document handling
- Ability to manage large volumes of project documents efficiently
- Good communication and coordination skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of construction and engineering documentation terminology and workflows
