Job Profile
The Sales and Billing Operations Manager is responsible for optimizing and supporting the end-to-end sales process for satellite connectivity plans and services. This role ensures operational excellence, accurate forecasting, pricing governance, CRM integrity, billing operations and smooth cross-functional coordination across sales, finance, technical, and operations teams to achieve Sama X’s revenue, margin, and growth.
Key Responsibilities- Design and improve sales processes, workflows, and tools.
- Ensure consistent sales methodology and documentation standards.
- Optimize lead management, qualification, and funnel stages.
- Support the CCO in developing sales plans and accurate revenue forecasts.
- Consolidate sales performance data by country, segment, and product.
- Track pipeline health, cycle times, conversions and churn.
- Deliver regular sales reports, KPIs and dashboards for Leadership review.
- Monitor KPIs: sales pipeline health, conversion ratios, average sales cycle, churn, and utilization rates.
- Generate monthly management reports summarizing key insights, opportunities, and risks.
- Track data-pools consumption/utilization and margin performance per region or partner and coordinate with Sales.
- Analyze performance of products and services.
- Support pricing, margin validation, and offer structuring.
- Maintain pricing catalogs and discount frameworks.
- Review proposals for compliance and profitability.
- Manage commercial approval workflows.
- Develop sales templates, playbooks, and product guides.
- Lead onboarding programs for new sales hires.
- Monitor CRM configuration and reporting.
- Ensure accurate and complete customers and pipeline data.
- Train and enforce CRM usage across sales teams.
- Relay to and coordinate with CTO required CRM updates, features and fixes.
- Support proposals, RFP submissions, and documentation.
- Ensure proper contract handover to delivery, NOC, and billing teams.
- Track renewals and contract term compliance.
- Oversee end-to-end billing for Starlink services (hardware, subscriptions, data plans, add-ons, services).
- Ensure accurate invoicing aligned with pricing models, customers contracts and SLAs.
- Manage recurring monthly billing, pr orations, upgrades, suspensions, and terminations.
- Validate billing against activated terminals and service start dates.
- Ensure billing complies with approved bids, prices and discount levels.
- Monitor gross margins per customer, deal, and service type.
- Coordinate with Finance for accurate billing, invoicing, revenue recognition and collection.
- Act as liaison between Sales, Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Operations.
- Ensure alignment on product launches and provisioning processes.
- Track delivery SLAs and elevate issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Telecom, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in sales operations in satellite, telecom, ISP, or technology sectors.
- Understanding of LEO satellite services, terminals, and bandwidth models.
- Strong CRM knowledge (Salesforce, Hub Spot, Zoho, Dynamics).
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and financial modeling skills.
- Experience in pricing governance and commercial processes.
- MBA is a plus
- Highly structured and process-oriented.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, multi-country environments.
- Strong ownership and attention to detail
- Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communications skills
