Supply Executive (Marine Fuel, Dubai)
Job Summary: The Supply Executive will be responsible for purchasing marine fuel from various suppliers for sale to World Kinect customers. This position will manage supplier relationships and develop new supply opportunities with existing and new suppliers.
Core duties and responsibilities include:
- Actively negotiate daily requirements in designated supply area
- Proactively develop new business opportunities from existing suppliers
- Work with suppliers to secure contracts with terms beneficial to WFS
- Proactively prospect for new business opportunities from new suppliers
- Analyse and disseminate appropriate market and demand information to identify new business opportunities
- Frequently visit existing and new suppliers
- Maintain a database of active customer targets and prospects
- Be a reliable point of contact for customer requests and transactions
- Maintain the Port Demand Profile for certain ports
- Assist in operational/logistic support where needed. These activities include supplier service, fuel delivery coordination, claims resolution and ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
- Understand, analyse and interpret market conditions, identify counter party needs, provide product and price information, negotiate deals and prepare and process orders, handle administration and general queries.
- Understanding the role of credit (and risk) when conducting the types of transactions this segment is doing.
- The ability to work closely within a team. Communicating ideas, strategies and business objectives together.
- Develop existing supplier relationships but also look to expand the current business portfolio by working with new suppliers who enter the designated supply regions. The ability to identify supply opportunities and maximising these.
- Communicating clearly with both suppliers and internal colleagues on the Sales side when an enquiry for a customer has been sent.
Key Requirements:
- Degree level or possess an equivalent level qualification, the successful candidate is likely to have in excess of three years experience in shipping or marine fuel.
- An understanding of commodity market dynamics.
- A resilient and tenacious character.
- Strong numerical ability and analytical skills are needed in order to interpret market information and competitively price products.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
