Role OverviewA strategic leadership role responsible for end-to-end business development, portfolio strategy, and value creation across Global Exports & Trade Markets, driving accelerated growth through deal origination, licensing, distributor management, partnerships, and portfolio optimization.
The role combines commercial & financial rigor, and execution excellence, with a strong focus on closing transactions, managing complex cross‑functional projects, and building scalable platforms across Africa, Latin America, Turkey, and Southeast Asia.
Core Responsibilities Deal Origination & Closure- Lead end-to-end business development lifecycle: opportunity identification, evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and closure of licensing, distribution, and partnership deals.
- Build and maintain a strong external network across key markets (Africa, LATAM, Turkey, SEA) to unlock white space opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Originate and execute in‑licensing, out‑licensing, and selective M&A opportunities, ensuring alignment with growth and profitability targets.
- Define and lead Local market acquisition/M&A opportunities and lead specific local projects such as local manufacturing projects in cooperation with the Business Head.
- Define and steer a fit‑for‑purpose, scalable portfolio strategy across Generics, Specialty, and Consumer Healthcare.
- Drive portfolio prioritization, expansion, and lifecycle management to maximize Net Sales and EBITDA contribution.
- Identify high‑impact growth levers, including category expansion, market entry, channel and portfolio optimization.
- Develop robust, investment‑grade business cases (NPV, DWC, IRR) to support decision‑making at executive and investment committee levels.
- Ensure strong financial discipline, challenging assumptions, optimizing pricing, margins, & working capital impact while achieving balance between growth ambition with disciplined capital allocation.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Show case strong command of valuation methodologies and commercial drivers.
- Lead cross‑functional project execution from concept to launch, coordinating Portfolio, Regulatory, Supply, Finance, and Commercial teams.
- Drive timely delivery of key initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic milestones and financial targets.
- Oversee post‑deal execution and performance tracking, ensuring commitments translate into tangible results.
- Matrix organization experience and ability to drive and deliver cross‑functional, multi‑market initiatives.
- Operate as a central orchestrator across regions and functions, aligning stakeholders behind clear priorities.
- Lead by example, fostering a high‑performance, accountability‑driven culture.
- Influence senior stakeholders and partners through credibility, strategic insight, and strong business acumen.
- Step in and provide commercial support and follow up as defined by direct manager.
- Active membership of the STADA Business Development and Portfolio community
- Leverage deep expertise in Generics, Specialty Pharmaceuticals/Biosimilars, and Consumer Healthcare to shape competitive positioning across wide geography.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory landscapes, and access models across emerging markets.
- Continuously scan the environment for emerging trends, competitive moves, and innovation opportunities.
- Liaise with Commercial and Market leads for new launches and projects.
- Provide reliable analysis that can contribute to the decision‑making process.
- Stakeholder Management to ensure HQ/local commercial/Marketing/Supply/Finance and Regulatory alignment & support the product launch processes.
- Track and report new launches status while providing risk mitigation plans.
