We are looking for a commercially minded and consumer-led Product Manager to own and steward the company’s full portfolio of products. This role is accountable for translating business strategy into clear product choices, managing the end-to-end product lifecycle and ensuring the portfolio delivers consumer relevance, operational scalability and long-term value. You will work cross-functionally to lead product decisions while remaining hands‑on in a lean, scaling organisation.
CoreResponsibilities
- Own the product and portfolio strategy, translating business priorities into clear product roadmaps.
- Define portfolio roles (hero, growth, maintain, exit) and make recommendations on focus, renovation and rationalisation.
- Balance growth ambition with operational capacity, margin targets and execution realities.
- Maintain a clear, prioritised product roadmap aligned with business strategy.
- Partner closely with the Strategy and Marketing functions to translate business strategy, growth guardrails and investment priorities into concrete product and portfolio decisions.
- Provide product‑led input into strategic planning, scenario analysis and long‑range growth discussions.
- Own products from early concept through development, launch, scale, renovation and disciplined exit.
- Lead New Product Development (NPD) initiatives from concept to market.
- Own and manage multiple SKUs, including performance tracking and lifecycle decisions.
- Lead development of robust business cases including managing the product/portfolio P&Ls partnering closely with Finance.
- Coordinate decision making on trade‑offs across cost, quality, speed and complexity.
- Partner with R&D from early concept through scale to ensure product designs are technically feasible, consumer‑relevant and aligned to long‑term capability development.
- Develop a deep understanding of consumer needs, occasions and expectations using insight, data and feedback.
- Define clear value propositions and product briefs grounded in consumer truth and commercial viability.
- Ensure taste, texture, format and overall experience meet or exceed expectations.
- Work with R&D to translate consumer insight into clear product briefs, technical requirements and development priorities.
- Act as the central integrator across R&D, Operations, Marketing, Business Development and Finance for all product initiatives.
- Partner with Strategy and Marketing to ensure product roadmaps, portfolio choices and sequencing reflect long‑term ambition, capital allocation priorities and capability plans.
- Work hand‑in‑hand with R&D to guide formulation, prototyping, testing and iteration, ensuring product intent is preserved through development.
- Partner with Operations to ensure products are manufacturable, scalable, compliant and margin accretive.
- Support Marketing and Business Development with clear product positioning, pricing logic and launch readiness.
- Track in‑market performance post‑launch and identify opportunities for improvement or course correction.
- Use performance data to inform future development priorities and portfolio decisions.
- Feed performance learnings back into core business functions to inform future product, commercial, operational and capability decisions.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to connect business goals to product decisions.
- Excellent commercial judgment and the ability to balance growth, margin and risk.
- Financial acumen, including P&L, budget management and business cases.
- Consumer‑centric mindset with strong insight synthesis and value proposition skills.
- Exceptional portfolio and product management capability, including prioritisation and lifecycle thinking.
- Influencing and collaboration skills, able to lead cross‑functional teams.
- Analytical and structured problem‑solving with data‑driven decision‑making.
- Clear and persuasive communication, able to align diverse stakeholders and build consensus.
- 5+ years’ experience in FMCG (food division) Product Management
- Proven ownership of multi‑product portfolios and SKUs
- Strong experience leading NPD and renovations
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Food Science, Engineering, or similar (Master of[LC1] Business Administration desirable)
