Vice President, Strategy Pricing & Interchange
Role DescriptionYou will be leading the economics strategy for Mastercard products and services for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA). You are responsible for designing, assessing and implementing pricing and interchange initiatives to strengthen Mastercard’s competitive position at the product and country level. By enhancing and shaping the evolution of our economics you play an important role in the development and adoption of innovative payment solutions.
With broad exposure across the organization, you will work closely with Country, Division and Functional management teams and liaise with partners in the Legal, Finance and Business Development teams. You will serve as a strategic thought partner for senior management and contribute to key projects for Mastercard’s strategy. The role reports to the Business Excellence Lead for EEMEA.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver holistic assessments on pricing and interchange initiatives along strategic, customer, financial impact, risk and feasibility angles (e.g., run financial impact simulations on country, product and customer level or run competitive economics analysis)
- Supervise cost studies that underpin the Interchange propositions (including member briefings and meetings)
- Prepare recommendations on innovative new product business cases and necessary materials for decision‑making, and present recommendations to senior management
- Collaborate closely with regional and country management across EEMEA
- Participate in cross‑functional teams and liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders (Product, Finance, Legal, Customers, consultants, etc.)
- Identify and design opportunities to support EEMEA objectives
- Proven demonstration of top‑class problem‑solving skills
- Excellent analytical skills: structuring and conducting rigorous analysis
- Ability to think strategically and develop a strategic view on Mastercard’s services and economics—understanding the financial fundamentals and architecture behind Mastercard business
- Excellent communication skills; able to liaise and work with a customer‑oriented mindset towards internal and external counterparts (accountability, sense of urgency, excellence)
- Strong drive and curiosity to learn, creativity, passion to achieve and excel
- Ability to manage projects and use project‑management skills for managing complex processes
- Strong team player who can operate effectively in a complex matrix
- Strong background in finance and analytics
- Excellent knowledge of Agentic Automation, Excel, and other information‑management tools
- Fluent in English
