The firm focuses on the energy industry, using deep expertise in power generation, oil & gas, refining, petrochemicals, LNG, pipelines, and power transmission.
PositionBusiness Development Director – responsible for growing the consulting practice in Oil & Gas, power delivery, and decarbonization, primarily through relationships with the financial community and project developers.
Key Responsibilities /Accountabilities- Grow Lummus Consultants’ business in cooperation with existing business heads.
- Develop a growth strategy centered on technical solutions while maintaining a broad business perspective beyond traditional due diligence assignments.
- Create a business plan that leverages Lummus Consultants’ talents, resources, and market opportunities.
- Grow name recognition of Lummus Consultants across all energy industry segments.
- Carry out business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts and lead the Key Account Management teams' efforts.
- Lead or participate in consulting project work.
- Prepare clear and concise written reports on assignments, develop conclusions, and present results to clients.
- Expand the Lummus Consulting practice area globally, identifying skill gaps and potential recruits.
- Achieve objectives with minimal oversight.
- Manage P&L forecast in close collaboration with supervisor and finance.
- Report to the Senior Director of Lummus Consultants in the Dubai office.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- High degree of self‑motivation and energy.
- Proven ability to manage business forecasting, short‑ and long‑term projection.
- Ability to earn respect from the team and influence others without authority.
- Professional image and presentation.
- Knowledge of international culture and style.
- Strong commercial savvy and negotiating skills.
- In-depth knowledge of all services across the LCI portfolio.
- Ability to work well with finance partners.
- Balance of technical and commercial capabilities.
- A degree in engineering (MBA is a plus but not required).
- At least 20 years of relevant professional experience.
- Prior experience with an owner/operator, major engineering company, or consultancy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write clear concise reports in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort conversing with clients and senior management.
- Demonstrated management and project management skills.
Based in the Dubai office. Relocation is not being offered. Business trips usually require less than a two‑week duration, with occasional short trips (one or two days). International travel to financial institutions in London and elsewhere is expected, with time away from the office averaging 10–30% of work hours.
