Job Description

• Grow existing Islamic corporate book inorganically (NTB) & organically (Existing corporate book) within CIBG & IBG in collaboration with the relevant product partners & respective relationship teams.
• Maximize market share & maintain competitive edge amongst all Islamic entities across the CIBG & IBG footprint.
• Play an active & integral role in deal origination efforts and coordinating between the client relationship team and product team(s) in the mandate execution.
• Maximize utilization of approved Islamic credit limits by facilitating the relationship team.
• Responsible for credit risk assessment along with the Relationship Managers (RMs), meeting the customers, preparing Credit Proposals (CPs), and liaising with Wholesale Risk Management (WRM) and the Compliance Unit to resolve all queries related to risk and compliance issues, respectively.

• Grow the Islamic book by onboarding new Islamic clients across CIBG & IBG.
• Identify and close new opportunities within the existing corporate book across the bank.
• Focus on all cross-sell opportunities for GTB/TCM/RBG emanating from wholesale transactions and relationships to the extent those relationships are being managed by the job holder or his/her team, which may occur for some IBG Islamic relationships.
• Ensure the new business and transactions are proactively managed as per Shariah guidelines and the bank’s policies, with risks properly identified and mitigated, credit process complied with, maintaining a satisfactory audit rating, and a high level of compliance.
• Develop strong working relations with all existing Islamic clients at the decision‑making level, to position us as their preferred bank.
• Maintain an active pipeline, focusing on ‘new to bank’ and "existing client" transactions/business.
• Work with all stakeholders of wholesale business groups to effectively implement the "Selling Islamic First" directives of the Shariah Supervisory Board.

• Minimum 10 years of wholesale banking experience, of which 5 Yrs of Islamic banking experience is a must.
• Must have experience in origination of wholesale transactions & deals (bilateral and syndications), and dynamics of such transactions in multiple geographies.
• Must possess a bachelor’s in business (BBA). However, an MBA and CFA would be a preference.
• Strong credit and marketing skills, along with intuitive / judgment skills to evaluate risks beyond the obvious.
• Strong interpersonal and communication ability.
