Associate Vice President (Account Manager) – Fund Administration
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The Apex Group is a global financial services provider that supports fund administration operations. This role requires excellent management of client deliverables and will help grow our operations in the Dubai office.
Job Responsibilities- Assist in the NAV preparation and review process for Hedge Fund clients, including management of the entire process
- Timely delivery of any other client‑specific reporting requirements
- Planning, scheduling and managing the daily workflows of all client deliverables within the team
- Reconciliation of investment portfolios, dividends and interest, corporate actions and investor capital activity
- Good understanding of various types of performance fee calculation, equalisation and management fee calculations
- Effective coordination with various Apex support centres when required
- Responsible for accruing/amortising daily or monthly non‑security related fee accruals (management fees, performance fees, financing accruals)
- Assist in the preparation and review of subscription and redemption packs, ensuring timely communication with investors of the funds
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, liaise with auditors and manage the audit process
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of distribution calculations, tax statements and liaise with the fund’s tax advisor
- Monitor and review payments to be initiated for clients
- Ensure client enquiries are answered in accordance with Apex service standards on an ongoing basis
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and fund specifications
- Ongoing implementation and refinement of SSAE 18 controls with coordination of internal and external auditors
- Actively cross‑sell our suite of services to our client base
- Assist in the development of new and existing global client relationships, optimising service offerings, productivity and profitability
- Ensure adherence to documented procedures and policies
- Work on the integration of large fund administration mandates
- Work on ad‑hoc internal and global projects (as required)
- Serve as first point of contact for internal and external audit, tax returns and compliance queries
- Facilitate the flow of information between Senior Management and Operations team on a timely basis
- 7‑9 years’ experience in a similar role incorporating the above functions
- Ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines
- Understanding of US GAAP & IFRS reporting standards for various fund structures
- Understanding of complex fund structures and fund accounting to act as subject‑matter expert
- Strong PC skills including Word, Excel and Excel macros (experience on Paxus an advantage)
- M.Com/MBA – Finance/CFA (preferred)
- An accountancy qualification such as ACCA or CA (advantage)
- Knowledge of various types of financial securities (Equity, Bonds, Futures, Options, Sukuks, CDS, CFDs, etc.) and their accounting treatment
- High degree of commercial awareness and client‑service focus
- Prior experience in the industry
- Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to work on own initiative and produce accurate, timely work
- Good interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with colleagues, clients and professional intermediaries
- Demonstrated ability to automate processes
- Knowledge of investor KYC and AML requirements
- Familiarity with Paxus is a major plus
- Ability to think critically and objectively
- Multi‑tasking and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions is a plus
- Work additional hours as needed
