We are seeking a commercially minded Strategic Investment Accountant to support investment evaluation, portfolio management, and financial decision-making across the business. The role combines traditional accounting expertise with investment analysis, financial modelling, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, investment teams, and portfolio companies to provide insights that drive capital allocation and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate new investment opportunities, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives
- Perform financial due diligence and analysis on prospective investments, including assessment of financial performance, cash flow generation, and key risks
- Support investment committee processes through preparation of financial reports, presentations, and recommendations
- Monitor and analyse the performance of portfolio investments against budgets, forecasts, and investment cases
- Assist in valuation exercises and preparation of quarterly and annual portfolio reporting
- Conduct market, industry, and competitor analysis to support investment decisions
- Partner with management teams to improve financial reporting, controls, and operational performance within portfolio businesses
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning activities
- Review and analyse financial statements to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
- Assist with capital allocation decisions and assessment of strategic growth opportunities
- Prepare board materials, management reports, and ad hoc financial analyses for senior stakeholders
- Liaise with external advisors, auditors, banks, and investment partners as required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA preferred
- 8-10 years of experience in accounting, transaction services, corporate finance, private equity, investment management, or a related field
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skill
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities
- Experience reviewing financial statements and conducting detailed financial analysis
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of investment principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skill
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
